James R. Smith, 76, Columbia, KY (1943-2019)

James R. Smith of Columbia passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019, at 8:17pmCT, at his home. He was 76 years old.

In accordance with James' wishes, a private graveside service will be held for his family. There will be no visitation.


He was born September 28, 1943 in Russell County to the late Ruel & Olza Holt Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Smith, and two brothers, Bobby & Mervin Smith. He was a farmer.

Survivors Include:
  • His Wife, Faylene Spencer Smith of Columbia
  • One Son, Joey Smith & his wife Amber of Russell Springs
  • One Daughter, Joanne Davis of Columbia
  • One Brother, Alvin Smith of Somerset
  • Five Grandchildren, Tori & Amber Davis, Madelyne, Madison & Mallory Smith
  • One Great-Grandchild, Paislee Lynn
  • Several other relatives & friends
