Garland Wilson Harris, 84, Magnolia, KY (1935-2019)

Mr. Garland Wilson Harris of Magnolia, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019. He was 84 years old.

The funeral services for Mr. Garland Wilson Harris will be conducted at 11amCT on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Cub Creek Cemetery in Edmonson County. Bro. Dale Warren will be officiating.

Visitation is requested from 2pmCT until 8pmCT on Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT on Thursday until time of the funeral service.


Mr. Garland Wilson Harris of Magnolia, Kentucky, son of the late Charles Mayford Harris and Ruby Young Harris, was born on Sunday, October 6, 1935 in Bowling Green, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. He was 84 years and seven days of age.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired Machinist after 25 years for Phillip Morris Cigarette Company.

He united in marriage to Lucille Lindsey Harris on June 5, 1954 who preceded him in death on February 24, 2013.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Angela and Danny Gramer of Maryland; two sons: Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Harris of Greensburg, and Robert Steven "Steve" Harris and his companion, Bonnie Smith both of Magnolia; a sister: Margaret Harris Bartman of Campbellsville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Harris was also preceded in death by a son: Michael Lee Harris on September 9, 2012.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association, which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Jason Harris, Clinton Harris, Kevin Milby, Jeremy Kent, Kenny Harris, Steve Harris.
