James Glen Posey, 74, Mell Ridge, KY (1944-2019) James Glen Posey of Mell Ridge passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home. He was 74 years old. The funeral services for Mr. James Glen Posey will be conducted at 10amCT on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Bro. Casey Durrett and Bro. Greg Whitlow will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT on Saturday until time of the funeral service. Mr. James Glen Posey of Green County, son of the late Welby Posey and Annie Edwards Posey, was born on Sunday, December 17, 1944 in Adair County and departed this life on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home in the Mell Ridge Community. He was 74 years, 9 months, and 28 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Posey was retired after 35 years of employment with the former Clark Casual Furniture Inc. He united in marriage to Patsy Ann Dial Posey on December 22, 1967 who preceded him in death on December 25, 2012. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Bradford Glen "Brad" and Chrissie Posey of Greensburg; a daughter and son-in-law: Angela Renae' "Angie" and Tony Scott of Adair County; five grandchildren: Josephine Grace Posey, Lily LeeAnna Posey both of Greensburg, Conner Anthony Scott, Curt Jamison Scott, and Carson Reed Scott all of Adair County; a sister: Joyce Murphy of Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Posey was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Ollen Posey, Austin Posey, Arthur Allen Posey, Faynola Parnell, Ruth Hortense Money, and Vernice Wright. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, which can be made at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Ron Dotson, Tony Scott, Conner Scott, Curt Scott, Carson Scott, Tom Pickett Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at cowherdandparrott.com.
