Edna Lue Kirk, 89, Cumberland Co., KY (1930-2019)

Mrs. Edna Lue (Pace) Kirk of Mud Camp Road in Cumberland County, Kentucky passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Cumberland County Hospital having attained the age of 89 years, 5 months and 16 days.

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11amCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY, with Rev. Fred Williams and Sister Sandra Pace officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery on Mud Camp Road in Cumberland County, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends after 5pmCT on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 until the funeral hour on Thursday.


She was born in The Waterview community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Saturday, April 26, 1930 the daughter of Charles Ray Winston "Gray" and Nevada (Alexander) Pace. She was a devout Christian, a member of Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (founded by Walter Keen Norris), an assistant Teacher for Lake Cumberland Head Start for more than 20 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Malcolm Kirk, Sr. whom she wed on February 14, 1950, her sisters, Elizabeth Ann Pace, Stella Mae Pace, Ollie Pace Norris, brothers, Sam Ed Pace, John Pace, Charles Pace, Jr., grandson, Christopher Robert Kirk.

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, children, Linda Lue Kirk of Lexington, Kentucky, Shirley Temple Kirk (who has lovingly cared for her for many years with much gratitude from her siblings) of Burkesville, Kentucky, Malcolm Kirk, Jr. (and Nancy) of Glasgow, Kentucky and Beverly Kay Kirk of Arlington, Virginia, sister, America Ann (and Rev. Fred) Williams of Jackson, Tennessee, grandchildren, Genia (and Silas) Matchem of Madisonville, Kentucky, Michelle Kirk of Lexington, Kentucky, great-grandchildren, Nia Matchem, Madison Matchem, Kennedy Matchem and S.J. Matchem. A host of other relatives and many friends also survive.
