A Taste of KY, U.S.A. - ISP Family/Student Potluck By Sabine Eastham Director of International Student Programs On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, over 110 people congregated in the back yard of the International Student Programs (ISP) House at 304 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY, bringing delicious dishes to provide a "Taste of KY, U.S.A." at the Host Family - Host Student Potluck. Despite the heat, everyone had a great time getting to know one another, and starting to make memories. Host families do not house international students. Rather they agree to have regular contact with the students throughout the year. They are their support system off campus, they come to their games and matches when their birth family is not able to come, they become their family, their "home away from home". The 2019 freshman class is made up of more than 500 undergraduate students and includes more than 50 international students; the largest incoming class of international students in the history of the college. Faculty and staff members are part of the ever growing network of wonderful warmhearted host familiy network. Currently, the program has 42 host families from 5 different counties.
