R. B. Hopper, 77, Russell Springs, KY (1941-2019)

R. B. Hopper of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at his home. He was 77 years old.

The funeral service for R. B. Hopper will be held at 10amCT on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Larold Gosser officiating. Interment will follow in the Hart Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Thursday and after 8amCT Friday until funeral time at 10amCT.


He was born July 28, 1941 in Russell County to the late Selby Brinkley & Eva Hart Hopper.

He was a farmer and a member of Salem United Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Meridth Popplewell Hopper
  • Two children: David Hopper, Russell Springs, and Kelly (Mark) Coots, Russell Springs
  • Five grandchildren
  • Two great grandchildren
  • Two sisters: Beverly (Bobby) Jasper, Windsor, and Barbara Jackson, Russell Springs
Pallbearers: Wayne Hart, Tony Hart, Steve Bennett, Tony Whittle, Joe Wilson, Michael Avis Wilson.
