Laymon Norris, 80, Columbia, KY (1938-2019) Laymon worked at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman he loved hunting, fishing, ginseng hunting and dog trading. Laymon Norris of Columbia died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his residence. He was 80 years old. The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 9amCT until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Born September 7, 1938, in Cumberland County, KY, he was the son of the late Robert Austin and Clara Melton Norris. Laymon worked at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman he loved hunting, fishing, ginseng hunting and dog trading. Survived by two sons Michael Norris (Debbie) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Mark Norris of Tifton, Georgia; one brother Gerald Norris (Sandra) of Columbia, KY; Five grandchildren Kayla Norris, Myka Ray, Nathan Norris, Nicholas Norris and Austin Norris; One great grandchild Weston Norris; also survived by Melissa Richard and husband Hobby, Kelly Ford, Roger Richard and Rayson Richards all of whom he loved like his own children. He was preceded in death by his companion for 37 years Paula Fulp on April 20, 2015. Pallbearers will be Hobby Richard, Roger Richard, Timmy Coffey, Eric Antle, Matthew Antle, Adam Montgomery.
