Karen King, 62, Casey County, KY (1956-2019)

Karen King of Liberty, KY passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Casey County Hospital. She was 62.

The funeral service will be held at 12noonCT/1pmET on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Durham Cemetery. Visitation is from 11-1 on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Colvin, Daniel Bryant, David Ramsey, Charlie Kennedy, Quincy Lentz and Adam Lentz. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Lentz and Drew Lentz.



Born on November 3, 1956, in Tiffin, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Ileen Mullins Sturgill. Karen worked in home health. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed attending auctions and collecting antique cookie jars.

She is survived by her significant other of twenty-six years, Steve Statham of Liberty; two sons, Adam James Lentz and Quincy (Judy) Lentz, both of Liberty; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. Other survivors include a sister, Margaret (Doug) Wilhelm of Holgate, Ohio; and three brothers, Arthur (Dee) Sturgill of Campbellsville, Clark (Colleen) Sturgill of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Steve (Rosetta) Sturgill of Tiffin, Ohio. She is also survived by a daughter in law, Amanda Willoughby of Liberty; her best friend, LuAnne Colvin of Campbellsville; the father of her children, Gary Lentz of Dunnville; and a host of family, friends, and special caretakers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Sturgill and Ambrose Sturgill.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY is in charge of arrangements.
