Mary Elizabeth Long, 53, Columbia, KY (1965-2019)

Mary attended the Victory Community Church and loved spending time with all of her family and friends. She loved Duke Basketball and Rascal Flatts music.

Mary Elizabeth Long, 53, of Columbia died Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the University Of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Rick Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT at the funeral home and continue on Friday morning until time for the funeral.


Born on October 6, 1965, in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of the late James "J. D." Long and Lucy E. Richards Long of Columbia who survives.

Mary attended the Victory Community Church and loved spending time with all of her family and friends. She loved Duke Basketball and Rascal Flatts music.

In addition to her mother she was survived by two sisters Lula Ann Turpin (Kevin) of Indianapolis, IN and E. Mae Murphy (James) of Breeding, KY; three brothers Thomas Douglas Long (Tonya Bryant) of Columbia, Jim Long (Susan) of Orlando, FL and Ricky Long (Cecilia) of Orlando, FL; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers will be James Murphy, Kevin Turpin, Jessie Coomer, Brandon Turpin, Dillan Long and Alex Coomer.
