Six Women's Swimmers earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors

By Chris Wells

Six Lindsey Wilson women's swimming student-athletes earned 2018-19 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, NAIA officials announced on Friday.

Caroline Cobb, Caitlin Freeny, Sarah Hahn, Jessica Macdonald, Harlee Smock, and Emily Wood all earned the annual accolade.

Smock earns her third scholar-athlete honor while Freeny and Wood pick up their second honor of their careers.

The six honorees break the program record for most in a single season. Each of the last three seasons, Lindsey Wilson has had four honorees each of the last three seasons.

Sixty-one women's swimming student-athletes across the NAIA received the honor.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.
