Lorie Shirley, 67, Taylor County, KY (1951-2019)

Always independent, she had worked several jobs to support herself and her family, but was recently quoted as being "happily retired". Her big heart overcame her allergies, and she adored her cat.

Lorraine Constance "Lorie" Shirley of Campbellsville passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at her home. She chose to be cremated. All services were held privately.



Born on May 26, 1951 to the late Theran and Virgina (Hadley) Gilbert, she was 67 years, 8 months, and 24 days of age at death.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. Always independent, she had worked several jobs to support herself and her family, but was recently quoted as being "happily retired". Her big heart overcame her allergies, and she adored her cat.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Three children - Dennis Baker of New York, Connie Brady and companion Jacob Tipton of Tompkinsville, and Michael Watson and companion Devon McCormick of Glasgow,

A brother - Kerry Gilbert of Virginia,

A grandchild - Alexis Tipton,

Special friends Shirley and Cliff Sturtivan,

Her precious kitty - Callie,

And a host of other family a friends.

She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Darlene Gilbert, James Gilbert, Corliss Gilbert, and Cynthia Rand.
