Rollen Coomer, 84, Adair County, KY (1934-2019) He was a member of Columbia Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran, a Barber on the square for over 50 years. After his retirement from the Towne Barber Shop he enjoyed playing golf, rook, fishing, hunting, farming and going to gospel singings. He survived his wife Myrna Loy Coomer by almost exactly three years. Rollen Coomer, 84, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at 10:42pm at Norton's Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. His funeral service will be Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4-8pmCT. Casket Bearers will be Tim Jones, Dennis Grant, Tony Joe Compton, Stephen Compton, Tim Loy and Howard Loy. He was born April 1, 1934, in Adair County, to the late Arnold and Willie Burbridge Coomer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Myrna Loy Coomer on March 12, 2016 and one sister; Vestora Grant. Rollen was a member of Columbia Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran, a Barber on the square for over 50 years, retiring from the Towne Barber Shop, enjoyed playing golf, rook, fishing, hunting, farming and going to gospel singings. Survivors include: One son & daughter-in-law - Greg & Joyce Coomer of Fairplay One sister & brother-in-law - Carolyn & Charles Jones of Columbia Several other relatives and friends In lieu of flowers, donations to Hosparus would be appreciated and can be left at the funeral home.
