Oris Wendell Spoon, 76, Columbia, KY (1942-2019) Mr. Spoon was a member of the Old Concord United Methodist Church, a farmer in the Fairplay community and loved spending time with family and attending church. Oris Wendell Spoon of Columbia, KY, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at T. J. Health Columbia. He was 76 years old. Funeral services will be 3pmCT on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Rev. Pat Smith officiating and Wendell's nephews serving as pallbearers. Burial will follow in the McClister Cemetery. Visitation is requested after 10:30amCT on Sunday at the funeral home. Born March 19, 1942, in the Fairplay community of Adair County he was the son of the late Mackey and Delva Bennett Spoon. Mr. Spoon was a member of the Old Concord United Methodist Church, a farmer in the Fairplay community and loved spending time with family and attending church. Survivors include a sister Julia Hadley (Dallas) of Columbia; two sisters-in-law Emogene and Carolyn Spoon both of Columbia; nieces and nephews Lisa Corbin, Jamie Isabelle, Michael, Mark, Marty, Terry, Bruce and Brandon Spoon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Betty Spoon and two brothers Junior and Ernest Spoon. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
