Human Trafficking happens in every community in Kentucky and often goes unreported because of the misconceptions many people have about what trafficking really looks like.

Community awareness and involvement is the best way to end trafficking. Allyson Taylor, with the KY Office of Child Abuse and Human Trafficking Prevention and Prosecution, will visit Columbia on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, for a series of presentations on Internet Safety and on Recruitment Methods of Traffickers.

This training will give students, parents and community members the tools to identify and report suspected trafficking activities and the knowledge to identify when those you know or love are being recruited by traffickers.

The following presentations are scheduled:

  • Internet Safety, presented to 5th graders at 9:30amCT at Adair County Elementary School

  • Recruitment Methods of Traffickers, presented to high school students at ACHS at NoonCT

  • Recruitment Methods of Traffickers, presented to middle school students at ACMS at 1:15CT

  • Human Trafficking, Street Signs and Recruitment methods, presented to parents and community members at the Extension Office at 5pmCT

Caregivers, law enforcement, mental health professionals, medical professionals, and any other members of the community seeking information about these topics are invited to the 5pmCT session on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at the Adair County Extension Office, Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground St., Columbia, KY.

The office of Attorney General Andy Beshear has become the leading state agency fighting human trafficking and is providing this training free of charge.
