Weldon Lee Baker, Sr., 87, Cumberland Co., KY native (1931-2019)

He was a former employee of the Kentucky State Park at Dale Hollow and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Weldon Lee Baker Sr., age 87 of Celina, TN formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Celina Health & Rehab.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 1pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Gary Cash officiating.

Burial will follow in Dutch Creek Cemetery.


Weldon was born on April 29, 1931 in Cumberland County, KY to the late C.B. Baker and Bertha McCluskey Baker. He was a former employee of the Kentucky State Park at Dale Hollow and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jean Gray Baker, and one son, Ricky Gene Baker.

Survivors Include:
  • One Son- Weldon Baker, Jr ( and Barb Cross) of Burkesville, KY
  • Two Sisters- Shirley Avery of Florida and Lola Whitehead of Indiana
  • One Grandson- Weldon Baker, III (and Lois Ann) of Burkesville, KY
  • One Great Grandson- Ricky Lee Baker of Burkesville, KY
  • Two Great Great Grandchildren- Zoey Ann Baker and Kameri Lee Baker
  • A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
