Anna Grider Patterson, 90, Liberty, KY (1928-2019)

Anna Elizabeth Johnson Grider Patterson, age 90, of East Ky 70 in Liberty, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmET on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church, 91 Weddle Dr, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Rodney Smith and Bro. Clifton Cowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5pmET until 9pmET on Monday, January 7, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville St, Liberty, KY. Visitation will also be from 8amET until 11amET on Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, and then from NoonET until time of services on Tuesday at the Church.


Born May 31, 1928, in Elizabethtown, KY, she was a daughter of the late Albert Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Tabb Carrol. Anna was a daily bible reader and a member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. She was also a former cook for the Casey County Board of Education.

She was the loving mother of 2 sons, Donald Ray (Linda) Grider of Tennessee and Bryan Keith (Cindy) Grider of Liberty and 5 daughters, Doris Addington of Elizabethtown, Colletta Grider of Campbellsville, Nene (Ronald) Cook of Liberty, Lavonda (Elmer) Coffman of Campbellsville, and Shelly (Rick) Wesley of Liberty. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several half-brothers and half-sisters.

Anna was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Winston Grider, who died in 1975, and Caleb Patterson, who died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Albert Johnson and a son-in-law, Phillip Addington.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church, 91 Weddle Drive, Liberty, KY 42539.
