Kathryn Stephens, 100, Russell County, KY (1918-2018)

She was a homemaker and a member of Russell Springs United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karlus Jackson Stephens.

Kathryn Stephens, age 100, of Russell Springs, died Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Funeral service for Kathryn Stephens will be 2pmCT Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Russell Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Timo Karvonen officiating. Visitation 10am-2pmCT at the church. Interment in the Russell Springs City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derek Stephens, Luke Stephens, Adam Stille, Matt Gosser, Brandon Selby, Darrin Edwards and Rob Clark. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ritchie Hamm, Kevin Hamm and Chad Hamm.



She was born June 9, 1918 in Sellersburg, Indiana to the late Perry and Florence Ella Bottorff Couch. She was a homemaker and a member of Russell Springs United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Karlus Jackson Stephens who died February 11, 2001 and a daughter, Gwen Howard who died in 1991.

Survivors
  • Three children - Joy Wilson, Russell Springs; Jack Wayne (Kathy) Stephens, Russell Springs; Gay Stephens, Lexington, KY

  • 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren

  • One brother: Bill Couch, Sellersburg, IN
Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
