Billy Karnes, 56, Adair County, KY (1962-2018)

He was a United States National Guard Veteran, attended Hutchison Community Church and will be remembered by many as a former gas station attendant at Gate.

Billy Karnes, 56, of Columbia, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at his home.

Graveside services will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11amCT at Bearwallow Cemetery with Bro. Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Bearwallow Cemetery with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will begin at 10:30amCT at the cemetery.



Billy was born April 27, 1962 in Lincoln, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Osby Karnes, Sr. & Dorothy Price Karnes; one sister, Rose Marie Karnes; and one brother-in-law, Larry "NuNu" Nally. He was a United States National Guard Veteran, attended Hutchison Community Church and a former gas station attendant at Gate.

Survivors Include:
  • His Wife - Vickie Dyer Karnes of Columbia

  • One Son - Kendrick Rayburn of Columbia

  • One Daughter - Kylie Rayburn of Russell Springs

  • Two Grandchildren - Julian & Arabella Hammonds

  • One Brother - Osby "Buddy" (Clemantine) Karnes, Jr. of Glensfork

  • Three Sisters - Nancy (John) Mann of Harrisonburg, VA, Angelina Nally of Springfield & Norma (Tim) Wiggington of Nancy

  • Father-in-law - Donnie Dyer of Columbia

  • Mother-in-law - Carolyn Dyer of Columbia

  • Several other relatives & friends
