Campbellsville HS celebrates football homecoming this week

By Calen Mckinney

Campbellsville High School is celebrating football homecoming this week, October 15-19, 2018, with dress-up days, games, the crowning of a king and queen, a parade, chili supper and more.

There will be a dress up theme each day, along with a spirit game. Students will compete to win points for their class, and, at the end of the week, a winner will be announced.

The schedule is as follows - all times are Eastern:

Monday, Oct. 15 - Meme Monday, with students dressing as their favorite memes, and playing the Tissue Game. The junior class won the game.

Tuesday, Oct. 16 - Tidal Wave Tuesday, with students dressing in a beach theme, and playing the Hula Hoop game. The freshman class won the game.

Wednesday, Oct. 17 - Wayback Wednesday, with students dressing in clothing from their favorite decade, and playing the Baby Food Challenge or Name That Song.

Thursday, Oct. 18 - Tabloid Thursday, with students dressing as their favorite celebrities, and playing Just Dance or Simon Says.

Friday, Oct. 19 - The Eagle Way, with students showing their school spirit by wearing purple and gold, and playing the Furniture Game.

There will be a Districtwide pep rally on Friday, starting at 9 a.m.

This year's homecoming parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The parade will travel down Main Street and then to Campbellsville Elementary School.

The week will end with a football game vs. Caverna, and two Kindle Fire devices and two flat screen televisions will be given away during the game.

The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Dave Fryrear Stadium.

One prize will be given away during each quarter. Winners must be present to receive their prize.

To be eligible to win, Campbellsville Independent Schools' parents must complete a survey, which will be available at the pavilion during the game and at the Campbellsville Middle School media center during a chili supper before the game.

The free chili supper will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the CHS cafeteria.

In addition to a free meal, CIS students and parents can receive free tickets to the game at the supper, as part of Fan Appreciation Night.

For those who can't attend the chili supper, tickets will also be available in the CHS office on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Campbellsville Independent Schools' students will be admitted to the game for free, though Campbellsville Elementary School students must be accompanied by an adult.

Before the game, at about 7:15 p.m., CHS senior football players and seniors participating in other fall sports will be honored.

This year's homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime.
