James Finamore Cooper, 91, Russell Springs, KY (1927-2018)

James was a Veteran of US Army, an employee of Hi-Way Manufacturing, and a member of Salem United Baptist Church.

James Finamore Cooper, 91, of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home.

The funeral service for James Finamore Cooper will be at 10amCT on Monday, October 15, 2018, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Larold Gosser officiating. Special music will be performed by Glen & Willodean Richardson. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Sunday, October 14, 2018, and after 8amCT on Monday until the funeral time at 10amCT.


He was born May 27, 1927 in Russell County to the late Edward & Cora Lee Bowmer Cooper.

James was a Veteran of US Army, an employee of Hi-Way Manufacturing, and a member of Salem United Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Eudora Humble Cooper; 5 sisters, Lucy Robertson, Alma Dutton, Eva Robertson, Estes Patterson, and Helen Bernard; and 3 brothers, Arva Cooper, Edward Cooper, and Palmer Cooper.

Survivors include:
  • Two children, Donald (Linda) Cooper, Russell Springs, and Linda Cooper & Les Lacey, Somerset, KY
  • Two grandchildren, Bryan (Lacy) Cooper, Russell Springs, and Heather (Jason) Withers, Russell Springs
  • Four great grandchildren, Camdin Cooper, Finnly Cooper, Hattie-Mae Cooper, Madyson Withers
The family requests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These can be made at the funeral home.
