Adair Co Health Dept. swine flu clinic today at ACMS
The Adair County Health Department will hold a H1N1 flu vaccination clinic today, Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Adair County Middle School (the old high school), 322 Gen. John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY, from 10:00am-12:00pm Noon CT. This will be for H1N1 nasal flu mist only and will be given to the priority groups established by CDC guidelines.
These include:
- Healthy persons ages 2-24 years old.
- Healthy healthcare staff, paramedics or EMTs up to 49 years old
- Healthy adults through 49 years old who care for children less than 6 months old.
- Only healthy individuals between 2-49 years can receive nasal spray vaccine.
Those with weakened immune systems due to chronic illness, etc. are not eligible for the nasal spray vaccine.
Pregnant women are also not eligible for this form of the vaccine.
Healthcare workers should check with their agency to determine if nasal spray vaccination is allowed.
Seasonal flu vaccine will be available October 24, 2009, at the previously scheduled drive thru clinic which will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church from 9:00-12:00.
