Funeral service for Dorothy E. Payne will be 12pmCT, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Dennis Price officiating. Visitation will be 10am-12pmCT, Saturday. Interment in the Russell Springs Cemetery, Lakeway Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

She was born April 5, 1923 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Luther Green & Loretta Brown Price. She died Tuesday, November 7, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 94 years, seven months, and two days.

Dorothy was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rine Payne; two sons, Harry Payne, Lonnie Payne; three brothers, Holland, Vernon, and Lilburn Price; two sisters, Carrie Kell, and Algie Swift. Survivors are as follow:
  • Three children: Persellia Fay Payne, Russell Springs, KY; Gary Joe Payne, South Carolina; Barry Dexter Payne, Russell Springs, KY

  • One grandson: Dr. Joseph Rine Payne, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three sisters: Ada Pennington, Shepherdsville, KY; Mary Lee Scales, Russell Springs, KY; Betty Smith, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two brothers: Jimmy Price, Shepherdsville, KY; and Jackie Price, Burkesville, KY
