Emilie Dowell Antle, Taylor County, KY (1933-2017)

She was a member of a a large, prominent Taylor County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Hallie "H.E." Dowell and Emma Speer Dowell and the widow of Veachel Antle, her husband of 59 years. She leaves 25 direct living descendants. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church where she was both saved and baptized, active in the Barbara Dabney Sunday School class, WMU and GA programs and for many years, taught Sunday School. Sending cards to people in her community during a time of need was a personal ministry of hers.

Emilie Dowell Antle, 84, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 1:45pmET, Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Campbellsville.

Funeral service was at 10amCT/11amET, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville by Dr. James E. Jones and Bro. Ken Forman. Burial is in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation was 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Emilie Dowell Antle, was the daughter of the late Hallie "H.E." Dowell and Emma Speer Dowell. She was born September 6, 1933, in Taylor County, KY. She died at Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 84 years, one month, and 18 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church where she was both saved and baptized, active in the Barbara Dabney Sunday School class, WMU and GA programs and for many years, taught Sunday School. Sending cards to people in her community during a time of need was a personal ministry of hers.

Emilie was a teacher's aide and clerical assistant for many years.

She united in marriage to Veachel Antle July 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death July 10, 2012.

She is survived by:
  • Two sons and three daughters: Barry Antle and wife, Becky; Stephen Antle, Rita Antle, Lyndi Tarter and husband, Mike; and LeDean Antle all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Gary Lynn Beard of Campbellsville, KY; Justin Durrett of Greensburg, KY; Kristen Bellah and husband, Bill of Bardstown, KY; Jeff Antle and wife, Christen of Lexington, KY; Greg Long and wife, Amanda of Campbellsville, KY; Chris Tarter and wife, Jenna of Bowling Green, KY; and Ann Morgan Macdonald and husband, Adam of Millington, TN

  • Thirteen great-grandchildren

  • Two sisters-in-law: Sue Dowell and Margaret Dowell of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two special care givers: Betty Smith and Pat Roution of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by a son, Gregory Ray Antle October 27, 1959; three brothers: Tommy Dowell, Ernest Lee Dowell and James "Chunky" Dowell.
