Gracie Wood, Taylor County, KY (1925-2017)

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY. She was a member of a respected Taylor County, KY, family, the daughter of the late Fletcher Gaddis & Frances Holmes Gaddis. She was the widow first of Dueard Gabehart, and later, of Eugene Wood. She leaves 20 direct and many step living descendants.

Gracie Wood, 92, of Elk Horn, KY, died at 10:40pmET, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Elk Horn, KY.

The funeral service will be 10amCT/11amET, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Olen Bagby. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, 200 Block of West Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmCT, Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


Gracie Wood, Taylor County, KY (1925-2017)


Gracie Wood of Elk Horn, KY, was the daughter of the late Fletcher Gaddis & Frances Holmes Gaddis. She was born August 13, 1925 in Taylor County, KY. She died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Elk Horn, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 92 years, one month, 20 day.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Stoner Creek United Methodist Church.

Gracie united in marriage to Dueard Gabehart, who preceded her in death in 1949.

She later united in marriage to Eugene Wood December 16, 1966 and he preceded her in death May 13, 1990.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She is survived by:
  • Three daughters: Dorothy Sheene & husband, Johnny of Danville, KY Selena Hudson Bagby & husband, Olen, and Chrystal Gribbins & husband, Jack Arnold of Columbia, KY

  • One step-daughter: LuAnn Grant of Columbia, KY

  • Three granddaughters

  • Seven great-grandchildren

  • Seven great-great-grandchildren

  • Several step-grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Irvin Gaddis; one half -brother, Clarence Gaddis; one half-sister, Gertie Wilson; and a step-son, Michael Wood.
