James Robert Mitchell, Taylor Co., KY (1935 - 2013)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a member of Pitman Masonic Lodge 124 F & AM. He was a retired semi-truck driver for Fruit of the Loom. His marriage to Wyona Benningfield, who survives, endured over 53 years. He leaves three direct living descendants.

James Robert Mitchell, 78, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 11:49pmET, Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Ron Young. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Friday, November 23, 2013, at the funeral home.


James Robert Mitchell, Taylor Co., KY (1935 - 2013)

James Robert Mitchell was the son of the late Robert Selby Mitchell and Catherine White Mitchell. He was born in Taylor County, KY, Friday, November 11, 1935. He died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 78 years and 9 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was a member of Pitman Masonic Lodge 124 F & AM.

He was a retired semi-truck driver for Fruit of the Loom. He united in marriage to Wyona Benningfield January 29, 1960.

Besides his wife, Wyona Benningfield Mitchell of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Michelle and Eddie Finn of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two grandsons: Tyler Finn and Cody Finn of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sisters: Margaret Dowell Pepper and Peggy Chewning and husband, Bobby of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph "Joe" Warren Mitchell March 4, 2002. Send a condolence to the family of James Robert Mitchell
