He was a longstanding businessman in Russell County. He established Lawless Welding and Lawless & Smith True Value Hardware. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and a member of Russell Springs United Methodist Church. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded Russell County family. He was the son of the late Erastus & Myrtie Garner Lawless, and the widower of Nellie McKinley Lawless. He leaves 29 direct living descendants.

Edwin Lawless, 94, of Russell Springs, died Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home. Funeral service will be 2pmCT Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY with Dr. Mark B. Hale & Dr. Timo Karvonen officiating. Visitation will be from 10amCT to 2pmCT Thursday. Interment in the Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 West Highway 80, Nancy, KY, on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 12:30pmCT with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.

He was born April 16, 1924 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Erastus & Myrtie Garner Lawless. He died died Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 94 years, two months, and nine days.

He was a Veteran of US Navy and a member of Russell Springs United Methodist Church. He established Lawless Welding and Lawless & Smith True Value Hardware.

Survivors are

• Three daughters: Bobbye (Russell) Butler, Connie (Gene) Smith, Tracy (Mitchell) Richards, all of Russell Springs, KY


• Eight grandchildren


• Eighteen great grandchildren

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie McKinley Lawless; five brothers, Omri, Avery, Marshall, R.J. and Herlan Lawless; and three sisters, Margie Coffey, Geneva Blair, and Floy Jean Lawless.
