Bobby Gilpin, 85, Campbellsville, KY (1932-2018)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and custodian for several years. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and also a farmer. He loved his farm and was an avid gardener. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded Taylor County, KY family, the son of the late Harry Gilpin and Gladys Sullivan Gilpin. His wife, Peggy Wilcoxson Gilpin, survives. He leaves nine direct living descendants.

Bobby Gilpin, 85, of Campbellsville, KY died at 1:24amET, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Larry Rowell and Rev. John Butler. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, 200 block W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Friday, March 30, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Bobby Gilpin, 85, Campbellsville, KY (1932-2018)


Bobby Gilpin of Campbellsville, KY, was the son of the late Harry Gilpin and Gladys Sullivan Gilpin. He was born May 8, 1932, in Taylor County, KY. He died at Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 19 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and custodian for several years.

Bobby was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and also a farmer. He loved his farm and was an avid gardener.

He united in marriage to Peggy Wilcoxson March 10, 1951.

Besides his beloved wife, Peggy Gilpin, whom he took tender loving care of after she became ill, he is survived by:
  • Two sons: Larry Gilpin and wife, Debbie and Bill Gilpin and wife, Karen of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Holly Carroll and husband, Chris of Cashion, OK; Miranda Zottman and husband, Corey and Aaron Gilpin and wife, Meredith of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren: Jack Zottman and John Zottman of Campbellsville, KY; and Maggie Carroll and Reed Carroll of Cashion, OK

  • One sister-in-law: Betty Gilpin of Campbellsville, KY

  • several nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Jimmy Gilpin and Bettye Mann.
