She was a member of a large, respected Adair County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late George & Lula Gentry Simpson, and the widow of Jimmy Lee Burton. She leaves three direct living descendants. She was a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church. She had worked at the Dining Center at Lindsey Wilson College for several years and at Oshkosh B'Gosh factory in Columbia, KY. She loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Funeral service Friday, March 2, 2018 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jamie Bryant and Bro. Jimmy York the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Pallbearers: Gregory Burton, Joey Cox, Mike Hamlett, Billy Joe Moore, Dwayne McKinney, Rodney Burton and Donnie Burton.
