Jennie Lee Tucker Davenport, Green County, KY (1933-2018)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Old Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired homemaker, farmer, feed mill and Fruit of the Loom employee. She was also a volunteer for 4-H. She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded Green County, KY family, the daughter of the late William Henry Tucker & Clarissa Montgomery Tucker, and the widow of Doye T. Davenport her husband of 50 years. She leaves 30 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Jennie Lee Tucker Davenport, 84, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Bowling Green, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Lee Tucker Davenport will be conducted at 2pmCT, Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Davenport Cemetery, New Salem-Donansburg Road, Greensburg, KY. Bro. Wilburn Bonta will be officiating. Visitation is requested 10am-2pmCT, Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.

Jennie Lee Tucker Davenport, Green County, KY (1933-2018)

Mrs. Jennie Lee Tucker Davenport of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late William Henry Tucker & Clarissa Montgomery Tucker, was born on April 26, 1933 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY. She was 84 years, eight months and eight days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Old Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired homemaker, farmer, feed mill and Fruit of the Loom employee. She was also a volunteer for 4-H.

She united in marriage to Doye T. Davenport in February, 1952 who preceded her in death on November 5, 2002.

Survivors include:
  • Four daughters and a son-in-law: Debbie and Alan Sales of Glasgow, KY; Pam Pelaski and Jan Davenport both of Bowling Green, KY; and Patricia Davis of Greensburg, KY

  • Three sons and a daughter-in-law: Billy & Connie Davenport of Hardyville, KY; Buddy Davenport of Greensburg, KY; and Ronnie Davenport of Bowling Green, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
