Oakley Mac Brown, Casey County, KY (1923-2016)

He was a retired farmer, commercial construction superintendent, and home builder. He loved cabinet building and wood working. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Lexington. He was the son of the late Ransom and Rosie Bastin Durham.

U.S. Veteran Oakley Mac Durham, 92, of Yosemite, KY, went to be with our Lord Monday, January 11, 2016.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 12pmCT/1pmET, at Mt. Olive Christian Church, 1974 N KY 837, Yosemite, KY, with Bro. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Durham Cemetery with military funeral honors by the Casey County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY. Visitation will also be from 10amCT/11amET, until time of the funeral on Wednesday at the church.



Oakley Mac Brown, Casey County, KY (1923-2016)

He was born April 16, 1923, the son of the late Ransom and Rosie Bastin Durham of Mt. Olive, KY. He died Monday, January 11, 2016, at the age of 92 years, eight months, and 26 days. He wed Ines Ross on June 7, 1942. He was a retired farmer, commercial construction superintendent, and home builder. He loved cabinet building and wood working. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Lexington.

He was adored by two loving daughters, Bonnie (and Terry) Spates and Judy (and Gary) Carman. He has one special grandson and four special granddaughters. He was a member of Mt. Olive Christian Church since 1935. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He has one surviving sister, Rethel (and Donald) Bunton of Amelia, Ohio.

Oakley's pain and suffering and trials of this life ended peacefully with his wife and daughter Judy beside him when the angels took him home. He is rejoicing with the Lord and family and friends who preceded him.
