Mr. Ernest Joe Ratliff, age 89, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at The Central Baptist Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be private. Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, Kentucky is in charge of funeral arrangements.



Mr. Ernest Joe Ratliff, 89, Cumberland Co., KY (1926-2015)


He was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on Sunday, March 28, 1926. He was the son of Benjamin Harrison and Margaret Lee Johnston Ratliff. He died Thursday, November 5, 2015, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 89 years, seven months, and eight days.

He was of Methodist faith, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II having attained the rank of Sergeant, an Accountant and an Industrial Engineer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean (Sizemore) Ratliff, whom he married on Wednesday, February 1, 1950, and his sisters, Catherine Elsea and Virginia Campbell.

He is survived by the following:
  • His daughter: Deborah Ratliff of Lexington, Kentucky

  • And his sister, Hilda Faye (Ratliff) Richardson of Monticello, Kentucky
