Ronnie Joe Wesley, Casey Co., KY (1941-2015)

He loved his cars, his farm, and his family. He was one of Casey County's most illustrious sons. He was the retired owner of Wesley-Ford Mercury. He had a doctorate from General Motors in Auto Mechanics. He was a former teacher at Casey County Vocational Center and Garrard County Vocational Center, former owner/director of Farmer's Deposit Bank, board member and former president of the Southeast Casey County Fire Department, board member of the Bethelridge Cemetery. He was actively involved in many different business ventures, a member of Mintonville Masonic Lodge. He was the patriarch of a distinguished family. His wife, Phyllis Black Wesley, survives.

Ronnie Joe Wesley, 74, of Bethelridge, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 1pmCT/2pmET, Saturday October 17, 2015, at Bethelridge United Methodist Church. Bro. David Bennett, Bro. David Greene and Bro. Daryl Vance officiating. Burial will be in the Bethelridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET on Friday October 16, 2015 with a Masonic Service held at 6pmCT/7pmET, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY and after 11pmCT/12pmET, Saturday October 17, 2015 at Bethelridge United Methodist Church.



He was born in Bethelridge, Casey County, KY on April 19, 1941. He was the son of the late Ocla and Nannie Belle Vest Wesley. He died Tuesday, October 13, 2015, in Bethelridge, Casey County, KY, at the age of 74 years, five months, and 24 days.

He was the retired owner of Wesley-Ford Mercury. He had a doctorate from General Motors in Auto Mechanics. He was a former teacher at Casey County Vocational Center and Garrard County Vocational Center, former owner/director of Farmer's Deposit Bank, board member and former president of the Southeast Casey County Fire Department, board member of the Bethelridge Cemetery. He was actively involved in many different business ventures, a member of Mintonville Masonic Lodge.

He loved his cars, his farm and his family!

Survivors include his spouse, Phyllis Black Wesley, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Susan Wesley McClure and (Dr. Thomas McClure) of Madisonville, KY and Sharron Wesley Porter and (Joseph Porter) of Lexington, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Emily Katherine McClure, Joseph Thomas McClure, William Wesley McClure and Zachary Ryan Porter

  • Nieces: Courtney Wesley Ikerd and (Frankie Ikerd) and Sondra Vaught Layman, Nephew: Dr. Stephen Kelly Vaught

  • and Great niece Aston Elizabeth Ikerd
Besides his parents in death by One Sister: Faustine Wesley Vaught.
