Dorothy Sneed, 80, Columbia, KY (1934-2015)

She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Rosa Estes Gilpin. She was the widow of Woody Sneed. She leaves 14 direct living descendants. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Dorothy Sneed, 80, of Columbia, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at 9:42pmCT at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 1pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Allen Durrett officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation is after 10amCT, Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the funeral home.

She was born March 28, 1934, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Rosa Estes Gilpin. She died Friday, February 13, 2015, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woody Sneed, one daughter, Sheila Long Cook, a granddaughter, Emily Long, three brothers, Austin, Chester and Donald Gilpin and a sister, Maggie Clemmons.

She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter - Connie (Preston) Chapman of Columbia
  • Three sons - Ronald (Barbara) Long of Edmonton, Vernon (Theresa) Long of Bowling Green, Douglas Long of Columbia
  • Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
