Betty Lou Branscum, 80, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 30th, at Jean Waddle Care Center, Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be 11amCT, on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Russell Springs First Baptist Church, 392 Kentucky 80, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, on Friday, August 1, 2014, at Russell Springs, First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Russell Springs City Cemetery.

Betty was born in Russell County, KY on Wednesday, March 28, 1934, a daughter of the late Opal (Combest) and Jullian Bowmar. She died in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the age of 80 years, four months, and two days.

She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.

She was survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Lisa Branscum, of Russell Springs, KY; and Connie Branscum Coston, of Russell Springs, KY

  • A son: Joseph Branscum, of Russell Springs, KY

  • Three grandchildren

  • Five great-grandchildren

  • A brother: Jimmy Kent Bowmar, of Russell Springs, KY
