Maxine Edwards, 92, Green Co., KY (1918-2014)

She was a native of Green County and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was a member of a large, highly regarded family. She was the daughter of the late James "im" Robert Larimore and Laura Bell Edrington Larimore. She was the widow of Woodrow Lynn Edwards. She leaves 25 direct living descendants spanning 4 generations. She had made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. She was a welder supervisor during World War II and was a homemaker. She was very active in the Democratic Party.

Mrs. Dorothy "Maxine" Larimore Edwards, 96, Greensburg, KY, departed this life June 15, 2014 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill Manor in Greensburg, KY.

Funeral services will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, at 1pmCT Thursday, June 19, 2014. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Wednesday, June 18, 2014, after 7amCT, Thursday. Speakers will be Rev. Charles Taylor, Robert Larimore and John Edwards.



Pallbearers: Ben Donlon, Austin Reliford, Connor Dawson, Joel Mobley, Trevor Sanders, Matthew Edwards, and Logan Edwards

Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Ennis, Redell Jewell, Greg Reliford, Jim Donlon, Stan Dawson, Sam Sanders, Vicki Edwards.

Maxine Edwards, 92, Green Co., KY (1918-2014)

Mrs. Dorothy "Maxine" Larimore Edwards was born Thursday, March 28, 1918 in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late James "Jim" Robert Larimore and Laura Bell Edrington Larimore. She departed this life June 15, 2014 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill Manor, Greensburg, Green County, KY, having attained the age of 96 years, 2 months and 17 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. She was a welder supervisor during World War II and was a homemaker. She was very active in the Democratic Party.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death October 9, 1972 by her husband, Woodrow Lynn Edwards. She is also preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Woodrow Edwards; one sister, Louise Simpson; and one son-in-law; Leo Jones, Jr.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: J.W. Bill and Anne Edwards of Greensburg, KY

  • Two daughters and one son-in-law: Elizabeth Jones of Greensburg, KY; and Jean and Tony Ennis of Hodgenville, KY

  • One sister: Barbara L. Price

  • Seven grandchildren: Beverly Reliford (Greg), Bill Edwards (Ann), John Edwards (Robyn), Mary Beth Mobley (Joel), Susan Donlon (Jim), Dee Anne Sanders (Sam), and Ellen Dawson ( Stan)

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • Two great-great grandchildren

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Special Olympics of Louisville. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
