He was the son of the late Virgil & Emmer Bybee McKinney. His wife, Katie Burton McKinney, survives. He leaves one direct living descendant. Robert was of the Methodist faith, an auto mechanic and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 1:30pmCT/2:30pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Hugh Withers and Bro. J. Richard Lehman officiating. Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery, 6090 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT/5:30pmET Saturday.

He was born Friday, April 26, 1940 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Virgil & Emmer Bybee McKinney. He died Thursday, October 3, 2013, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 73 years, 5 months, and 7 years.
He was preceded in death by foster parents Bob & Nora Lee Branham; he was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Marvin McKinney and Clyde McKinney, and Lou Willie McKinney and Pearl Campbell.
He is survived by his wife Katie Jean McKinney, of Columbia, KY and the following:
