Bobby D. Benningfield, Taylor Co., KY (1933-2012)

He was a highly regarded citizen of Taylor County, KY, and the patriarch of a highly regarded family. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Campbellsville High School where he was a star basketball player. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He started Quick Stop in Campbellsville and was a former employee of Primerica Financial Services and Batesville Casket Company.

Bobby D. Benningfield of Campbellsville, KY, died at 4:33amET, Friday, December 21, 2012, in Elizabethtown, KY. He was 79.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT/11amET, Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Dr. James Jones. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, W. Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the funeral home.

Bobby D. Benningfield was the son of the late Maurice Benningfield and Lilly Campbell Benningfield. He was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, June 12, 1933. He died Friday, December 21, 2012, in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY, at the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 9 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He was a graduate of Campbellsville High School where he was a star basketball player.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He started Quick Stop in Campbellsville and was a former employee of Primerica Financial Services and Batesville Casket Company.

He united in marriage to Carolyn Smith June 17, 1971.

Besides his wife, Carolyn Benningfield, he is survived by the following:
  • One son and one daughter: Todd Adams of Campbellsville, KY; and Sharon Benningfield of Mobile, Alabama

  • Four grandchildren: Grant Adams, Carly Adams and Taylor Price and wife, Danielle, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Sidney Benningfield of Alabama

  • One great granddaughter: Braelyn Price

  • Three brothers: Richard Benningfield and wife, Betty Lou of Glasgow, KY; and Randall Benningfield and David Harding of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Benningfield and a brother, George Harding.

Famiy requests expressions of sympathy be donations to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Christ Life Center and may be left at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Send a condolence to the family of Bobby D. Benningfield
