Lissie Mae Perkins Ervin of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Albert Perkins and Mattie V. Wilson Perkins, was born on May 9, 1924 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill. She was 88 years, 5 months, and 28 days of age.

The funeral services for Lissie Mae Perkins Ervin will be conducted at 11amCT, Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Bro. Eudell Stilts, and Bro. Wilburn Bonta will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-9pmCT, Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT., Friday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Glen Gaddie, Robbie Whitehead, Jared Ervin, Clayton Matney, Dewey Matney, Chuck Eatmon, and Jimmy Ervin.

Honorary pallbearers: Sharon Froedge, Tammy Coffey, Angie Bolin, Reva Ervin, Monica Eatmon, Melissa Ervin, and Carrie Ann Combs.

Lissie Mae Perkins Ervin was the daughter of the late Albert Perkins and Mattie V. Wilson Perkins. She was born Friday, May 9, 1924 in Metcalfe County, KY, and died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 88 years, 5 months, and 28 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband: William Elwood Ervin of Greensburg, KY, and the following:
  • Four daughters and two sons in law: Cletis and Sidney Gaddie of Edmonton, KY; Carolyn Willis of Greensburg, KY; Linda McKinney of Louisville, KY; Shelia and Raymond Matney of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Lonnie and Susie Ervin of Michigan, and Randall and Sandy Ervin of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters: Marie Ervin, and Ruth Dale Montgomery both of Indiana

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Three step-grandchildren

  • Fourteen great grandchildren

  • Five step great grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Ervin was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Ervin. Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
