Obituary: Mrs. Carrie Lewis Dobson, 92, Green Co. KY

Mrs. Lewis attained the oldest membership of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Carrie Lewis Dobson, 92, Summersville, KY, died November 24, 2009, at her home.

The funeral service was held Friday, November 27, 2009, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, Greensburg, KY, with burial in Whitlow Cemetery.



Mrs. Carrie Lewis Dobson, 92, Green Co., KY (1917-2009)

Mrs. Carrie Lewis Dobson of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Woodson L. Lewis and Flora Alice Marcum Lewis, was born on May 8, 1917 in Green Co., KY, and departed this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at her home. She was 92 years, six months and 16 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and had attained the oldest membership of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker.She united in marriage to Louis Hollis Dobson on December 28, 1939 who preceded her in death on January 24, 1974.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Donald and Venona Dobson of Georgetown, KY; and David and Susie Dobson of Summersville, KY

  • Five grandchildren and spouses: Rhea and Leisa Dobson of Georgia, Allen and Angela Dobson of Lexington, KY; Karen and Joshua Zamora of Georgetown, KY; Randall and Monica Dobson of Summersville, KY; and Shannon Dobson of Summersville, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren: Kaelyn Dobson of Georgia, Zoe Zamora and Jacob Zamora both of Georgetown and Levi Dobson of Summersville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Lewis Dobson were conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Whitlow Cemetery. Bro. Leslie Jewell will be officiating.

Pallbearers were Allen Dobson, Randall Dobson, Larry Skaggs, Billy Skaggs, Dwayne Dobson, Doyle Johnson, Boyce Dobson, and Frankie Dobson.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the local Christmas Angel Tree Program, which can be made at the funeral home.
