Mrs. Rubarts was a member of a distinguished Adair Co., KY, family, and of the Columbia Christian Church. She earned high respect as teacher and educational leader, historian, women's leader, and author

Minnie Corbin Rubarts, age 91, of 555 Howard Dulin Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 6:40 A.M. at her home after a brief illness.The funeral service will be Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY with Bro. Terry White and Bro. Raymond Martin the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Corbin Family Cemetery, 3349 Bull Run RD, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 3:30pmCT, on Friday, November 6, 2009, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Minnie Corbin Rubarts, Columbia, KY (1918-2009)

Minnie Corbin Rubarts was born April 19, 1918, the daughter of the late: Alfred B. and Emma Triplett Corbin of Adair County, KY, and died November 4, 2009, at the age of 91 years, 6 months, and 16 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ray Rubarts on May 11, 1987.

Mrs. Rubarts was a teacher and guidance counselor in the Adair County School System for many years, she was a past member of the Adair County Retired Teachers Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, Adair Heritage Association, Past President of the Columbia Women's Club, a member of the Columbia Christian Church and an avid gardener and homemaker. She was the author of Adair County Historical Overview, County and Schools. Survived by the following:
  • One brother: A.B. Corbin Jr. of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Cylina Zink of Fredericksburg, IN

  • Survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and former students.
She was preceded in death by these brothers and sisters: Elvin Corbin, Christine Morgan, Allen Triplett Corbin, Allie Hixson, and Julia Mae Corbin.
