We will salute veterans and active-duty military at a special bluegrass concert opening at 5pmCT/6pmET on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at The Center for Rural Development 2292 South Hwy. 27, Somerset, KY.
The opening act for Nathan Stanley will be local Bluegrass group Rounder's Station featuring Jacob Irvin, playing lead guitar; singer, Carl Vanover on banjo and vocals; Benny Johnson, with the mandolin and vocals; plus Randy Frye on the acoustic bass.
Tickets for Nathan Stanley and Rounder's Station on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, start at just $25 plus fees & taxes. Veterans and Active Military members will receive a $5.00 per ticket discount. The "Prince of Bluegrass," Nathan Stanley, is the grandson of Bluegrass Legend Dr. Ralph Stanley. He is also a Dove Award Winner, Grammy Nominee, and ICM Award Winner.
Nathan Stanley will give a tribute to his late grandfather who passed away in 2016. Dr. Ralph Stanley was known for his distinctive singing style and banjo playing. He began playing music in 1946, playing alongside his brother Carter as the Stanley Brothers, and was even the leader of his own band, the Clinch Mountain Boys. Songs like "O Death," "Man of Constant Sorrow," "Little Maggie," "Angel Band," "Over the Glory Land," "Mountain Dew," "Because He Loved Me," "Rank Stranger" and "Pretty Polly" will be brought back to life on the historical Center Theatre stage for an unforgettable tribute to one of the greatest Bluegrass musicians, Dr. Ralph Stanley.
"I have a lot of roots in Somerset, Kentucky. My grandmother, Jimmie, was from there and I still have a lot of cousins there now. I had the great privilege of performing at The Center for Rural Development multiple times with my papaw, Dr. Ralph Stanley. I'm really excited about bringing my tribute show to him back to The Center."
