Carolyn Spurling, 94, Green Co., KY native (1928-2022)

Carolyn Spurling of Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 in Louisville. She was 94 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Wednesday, December 22, 2022, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, officiated by Rev. Robert Morris. Burial will follow in Little Barren Separate Baptist Church Cemetery in Green County, Kentucky.

Visitation is requeseted from 11amET until 2pmET on Wednesday, December 22, 2022 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home.


Carolyn Spurling of Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Richard Thompson and Lola Kidd Thompson, was born April 19, 1928 in Green County, Kentucky.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Spurlington United Methodist Church.

Carolyn loved fishing and her time spent in Florida.

She united in marriage to Charles Spurling December 20, 2002 and he preceded her in death March 17, 2018.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Donald Clark and wife, Paula, Dale Clark, and Jan Wilcoxson and husband, Tommy of Louisville; eight grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Richard Thompson of Glasgow and Jeania Miller and husband, Mel Rash of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Clark, Jr. and three brothers and two sisters: Leo W. Thompson, Jr., Bill Thompson, Weldon Thompson, Jewell Squires and Kay Seaborne.
