LWC Men's Soccer beats Pikeville 2-1 By Chris Wells Pikeville, KY - No. 6 Lindsey Wilson men's soccer ran its winning streak to seven straight today with a 2-1 win over host Pikeville (Ky.) at Bob Amos Complex. Karim Jouini and Tyler Collishaw provided the Blue Raider goals to help Lindsey Wilson improve to 10-1-1 on the season, including a conference-best 4-0 in the Mid-South Conference. Pikeville drops to 8-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play with the loss. Jouini jumpstarted Lindsey Wilson with his fifth goal of the season in the ninth minute to give the Blue Raiders an early 1-0 lead. The goal is Jouini's third in his last two games. Pikeville tied the game in the 21st minute as Aaron Aven scored his fourth goal of the season. Collishaw pushed the Blue Raiders back in front just before the intermission. He found the back of the net in the 42nd minute off a Stephane Dasse assist for the 2-1 lead. The goal is Collishaw's second of the season in as many games and his seventh career game-winning goal. In addition to leading the Bears at the break, the Blue Raiders enjoyed a 12-5 shots advantage over their hosts. Lindsey Wilson continued to apply pressure in the second half, but could not find an insurance goal. Blue Raider goalkeeper William Diaz and the Lindsey Wilson defense made sure the one-goal lead was enough. The Blue Raiders outshot the Bears 6-3 -- including 4-0 in shots on target -- in a scoreless second half. Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2pmCT on Sunday, Oct. 14, as the Blue Raiders travel to play Cumberland University (TN), 1 Cumberland Square, Lebanon, TN.
