LWC soccer travels to Pikeville Tuesday

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's soccer teams travel to fellow Mid-South Conference member Pikeville (Ky.) on Tuesday, October 9. The women start at 2pmCT at Bob Amos Complex, Bob Amos Dr., Pikeville, KY, with the men's game to follow at 4pmCT.

No. 13 Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team (4-2-2, 2-0-1 MSC) is coming off a 3-0 home victory against Georgetown (Ky.) last Friday night. Alicia Thoresen, Veronica Kurtz and Emelie Liljered all found the back of the net for the Blue Raiders in this matchup. Veronica Kurtz netted her first goal and assist of the season for the Blue Raiders. Alicia Thoresen leads the Blue Raider offense with four goals and an assist.


Pikeville (2-10, 0-2 MSC) is coming off a 3-0 road loss to Cumberlands (Ky.). The Bears have notched 11 goals this season with Reagan Bridge leading the way with four goals. The Bears defense is led by freshmen goalkeeper, Erica Burkhardt, posting 79 saves this season. Burkhardt is ranked in the top 20 in the NAIA and is ranked second in the MSC in total saves.

Tuesday's match marks the 17th meeting with Lindsey Wilson leading the series 16-0. The last meeting resulted in the 7-0 win for the Blue Raiders.

No.9 Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (9-1-1, 3-0 MSC) returns to action after a 5-0 home victory over Georgetown. Four different Blue Raiders scored in this matchup in Yuta Yamamoto, Andrew Revanales, Karim Jouini (2), and Tyler Collishaw. Senior forward and 2017 MSC Player of the Year, Collishaw, returned from injury to make his season debut last Friday night.

The Blue Raiders offense is led by Andrew Revanales who is ranked ninth in the NAIA in total goals this season with 13.

Pikeville (8-4, 1-1 MSC) is coming off a 1-0 road loss to Cumberlands (Ky.) last Saturday. The Bears offense is led by Eric Bernabeu, who has netted 15 goals this season. Bernabeu is ranked third in the NAIA in total goals.

This matchup will feature two of the top goal scorers in the MSC in Pikeville's, Eric Bernabeu and Lindsey Wilson's, Andrew Revanales.

Tuesday's matchup marks the 17th meeting with Lindsey Wilson leading the series 15-1. The last meeting resulted in a 6-0 victory for the Blue Raiders.
