LWC Football hosts Cincinnati Christian on Saturday

The No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson football hosts Mid-South Conference competitor Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) on Saturday at 2:30pmCT at Blue Raider Stadium, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY, for the 2018 Homecoming game.

The Blue Raiders (3-1) returns home after traveling to South Carolina last Thursday to face against Presbyterian. Last weeks matchup marked the first time that the Blue Raiders have faced an NCAA Division I FCS member. LWC fought hard against Presbyterian but were ultimately defeated 10-0 in a defensive battle.


Cameron Dukes completed 12 of 26 pass attempts for 139 yards and rushed for 46 against the Blue Hose. Blake Ingleton had 17 carries for 73 yards in the loss. Cam Wyche led the receiving corps with 68 yards on the night. The Blue Raider offense was shut down by Presbyterian but looks to improve on the struggles when facing Cincinnati Christian on Saturday.

Lindsey Wilson ranks fifth in the NAIA in total offense with 507.8 yards per game.

Dukes has thrown eight touchdowns for 917 yards so far this season with an average of 229.3 yards per game while also recording one rushing touchdown. Ingleton leads the ground attack with five touchdowns on the season with 412 yards as he averages 103 yards per game.

Trent Mueller continues to anchor the defense with 35 total tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss. The LWC defense has produced 10 sacks on the season with 24 tackles for loss as well.

Cincinnati Christian (0-6, 0-1 MSC) comes to Blue Raider Stadium after losing 23-10 to Cumberland (Tenn.) to open conference play.

Quarterback Alex Duran leads the air attack with 504 yards passing, two touchdowns and averages 126 yards per game. The ground game is led by Chris Young who has 353 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

Saturday's game is the third matchup between the two programs. The Blue Raiders hold a 2-0 record over the Eagles.
