LWC Soccer to host Georgetown Friday night

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's soccer teams host Mid-South Conference competitor Georgetown (Ky.) on Friday. First kick for the women's match is scheduled for 5pmCT followed by the men at 7pmCT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY.


The No. 13-ranked women's team (3-2-2, 1-0-1 MSC) returns to Columbia after drawing 2-2 against Cumberlands (Ky.) in Williamsburg on Tuesday. Yvonne Ploeg would be the lone goal-scorer for the Blue Raiders in the 43rd minutes as the other goal came on an own goal from a Patriot defender.

Georgetown (3-6, 0-1 MSC) visits Walter S. Reuling Stadium after a 3-1 defeat against Cumberlands (Ky.) back on Sept. 25th. The Tigers have scored 23 goals this season with Skye Zimmer leading the attack with six goals. The Tigers have three other student-athletes who have scored three or more goals this season.

Tonight's matchup is the 40th meeting between the two teams. Lindsey Wilson is 35-1-3 all-time in the series. The two teams last met at the MSC Tournament semifinals where the Blue Raiders defeated the Tigers 1-0.

The No. 6-ranked men's team (7-1-1, 1-0 MSC) are coming off a 2-0 road victory over Cumberlands on Tuesday. Renan Ramos opened the scoring in the 21st minute with his second goal of the season. Andrew Revanales scored the second goal of the match to mark his 12th goal this season.

Georgetown (7-5, 0-1 MSC) picked up a 1-0 road victory over Indiana University East on Saturday. The Tigers have slotted 26 goals this season with Noel Roman leading the attack with eight goals and has recorded seven assists as well.

Tonight's matchup is the 38th meeting between the two programs. LWC holds a 35-2 record in the series. The two programs last met on October 3, 2017, where the Blue Raiders defeated the Tigers 10-0 on the road in Georgetown.
