LWC Volleyball defeats Georgetown 3-0 By Christopher Coombs Georgetown, KY - The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team defeated Georgetown (Ky.) in straight sets 3-0 on Tuesday night in Mid-South Conference action at the Davis-Reed Alumni Gym. The Blue Raiders (19-3, 8-0 MSC) managed 40 kills and a .316 hitting percentage on the night as the Tigers (12-6, 4-1 MSC) recorded 36 kills and were limited to a .120 hitting percentage. Lindsey Wilson also recorded six service aces for the match while allowing zero by the Tigers. Reigning MSC Attacker of the Week Sarah Cruz recorded 12 kills on the night, marking the 16th time this season she has recorded double-digit kills in a match. Klara Mikelova added 11 kills as Elly Burke managed 10. MSC setter of the week, Autumn Proctor guided the attack after recording 31 assists, the 15th time this season she has had double-digit assists in a match. Cruz led the Lindsey Wilson attack in the first set when she recorded seven kills and bolstered a .545 hitting percentage after committing just one attack error. Lilo Larzelere guided the defensive effort producing five digs as Burke and Proctor both added four. Proctor also recorded seven assists as the Blue Raiders hit .212 for the set. LWC controlled the second set from start to finish as they never trailed. The Blue Raiders produced a .242 hitting percentage while recording 13 kills and five errors. Burke found her swing in the set, recording six kills. The third and final set of the night was all Lindsey Wilson as they were able to win in a commanding 25-13 fashion. The Blue Raider offensive attack was perfect in the set recording 15 kills and zero errors as they managed a match high .517 hitting percentage for the set. Georgetown's Emma Pike recorded a team-high 12 kills and a .233 hitting percentage as Sarah Bell had 27 assists and Samantha Lincoln added 14 digs. Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Oct. 11th when they play host to Cumberlands (Ky.) in MSC action at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.
