LWC Volleyball Travels to Georgetown for MSC matchup

No. 4 Lindsey Wilson volleyball travels to play Mid-South Conference member Georgetown (Ky.) at 6:30pmCT on Tuesday, October 2, at Davis-Reid Gymnasium, 400 E College St, Georgetown, KY.


Georgetown (12-5, 4-0 MSC) is coming off a road loss to Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) at the Holiday Inn Express Tournament. Emma Pike led the Tigers with 14 kills while hitting .278. The Tigers are ranked in the top 20 in NAIA for assists and kills per game.

Lindsey Wilson volleyball (18-3, 7-0 MSC) returns to action after splitting matches this past weekend with Ottawa (Kan.) and at No. 8 Missouri Baptist. The Blue Raiders swept Ottawa on Friday night 25-16, 25-20, 25-19. On Saturday night, LWC fell short against Missouri Baptist in a 2-3 loss. Sarah Cruz posted a season-high 20 kill game, which marked the 15th match she has recorded double digit kills. Grace Blomstedt leads the Blue Raiders defense with 87 blocks this season ranking her sixth in the NAIA in total blocks.

Tuesday’s matchup will feature two MSC Players of the Week announced by officials Monday afternoon. Sarah Cruz won attacker of the week for the fourth time this season. Autumn Proctor won setter of the week for the second time this season.

Tuesday’s matchup will mark the 45th meeting. Lindsey Wilson trails the all-time series 27-17. The Blue Raiders have won four straight in the series and eight of the last nine meetings.
