LWC Volleyball sweeps Ottawa in first match of doubleheader By Clayton Barefield St. Louis, MO - The No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team swept Ottawa (Kan.) on the road for the first match of their weekend doubleheader at Missouri Baptist. The Blue Raiders (18-2, 7-0 in the Mid-South Conference) performed yet another dominant match with a 25-16, 25-20, 25-19 victory over the Braves. Friday night's sweep marks the 14th match on the season that the Blue Raiders have won in straight sets. Lindsey Wilson recorded their tenth match of the season with a hitting percentage of .300 or better. LWC attacked with a percentage of .333 while Ottawa hit for .126 in the match. The Blue Raiders gave up 11 errors on the night while the Braves recorded 20 of their own. As a team, LWC recorded 44 kills on the night with Elly Burke and Klara Mikelova both leading the way with 10 kills. Mikelova also tallied 10 digs on the night marking her third double-double on the season. Autumn Proctor led the offensive front with recording all 38 assists for Lindsey Wilson. Freshman Lilo Larzelere led the team in digs with 15 marking her 12th match on the season with double-digit digs. Ottawa (11-6, 2-0 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference) finished the game with 33 kills along with 32 assists and 40 digs. Morgan Berry recorded 31 of the 32 assists for the Braves. Ayona Tharps led the offensive attack for Ottawa with nine kills. Lindsey Wilson returns to action on at 1pmCT on Saturday to face off against host Missouri Baptist at Petty Sports and Recreation Complex, Dink Marler Ln, Creve Coeur, MO.
