LWC Women's Soccer hosts William Carey By Benjamin Riegger No. 17 Lindsey Wilson women's soccer returns to action against No. 3 William Carey (Miss.) at 4:30pmCT Saturday, September 22, at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. The game is scheduled now for 4:30pmCT due to possible inclement weather in the area. The Blue Raiders (2-1-1) defeated Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) 4-1 last Saturday. Lindsey Wilson produced goals by Alicia Thoresen, Delfina Santellan, Sina Cavelti, and Emelie Liljered. The Blue Raiders held the Tigers offense to only five shots total with only one being on goal. The Blue Raiders offense has produced six different goal scorers this season. Freshman forward, Sina Cavelti, is leading Lindsey Wilson in overall points, assists and is in a three-way tie for goals. William Carey (6-1-0) notched a 4-0 victory over Thomas University (Ga.) last Saturday. The Crusaders are 2-1 this season over top-25 opponents. William Carey is in the top 25 in shots on goal and goals per game in the NAIA. Ana Paula Santos leads the Crusaders with eight goals and two assists while shooting 48-percent of her shots on goal. Saturday's match is the 14th meeting between the two programs, which resulted in a 3-2 loss for the Blue Raiders last September. The Blue Raiders are 6-6-1 against the Crusaders.
